ARAN is an artisan bakery situated in Dunkeld, Highland Perthshire. Based in what was a derelict 200-year-old building in the heart of the community, we have brought new life into one of the most prominent shops on the high street. Throughout the years it has been everything from a lemonade factory to a dental practice. Now, stripped back and lovingly restored it has another use in its long list of service.

Initially set up as an open plan kitchen, all of our processes were on display for customers to observe our methods and techniques whilst they waited for their purchases. Since opening in October 2017 we have struggled to meet demands, closing when we sell out. In early May 2018 we took on the lease for a near by unit and transformed it into our production kitchen. Since then we have been able to produce more than double our initial volumes.

The bakery kitchen is now used to decorate and finish our celebration cakes and patisserie as well as prep our lunch and breakfast menu, available throughout the day. It still operates as an open plan space.
