JANUARY 2024
Happy new year one and all! Although it may feel like a distant memory now, we hope you had a wonderful winter break. Our doors have re-opened for 2024 and we are delighted to be back. Indeed, work is providing much needed distance between us and left-over ARAN Christmas cake (the daily consumption rate was starting to get out of hand…).
Our current menu is designed to help you through these dreich January days. Swedish Semlor Buns are proving to be a firm favourite. If you fancy giving these a go, the recipe is in our ARAN Bakery Cookbook, which is available to buy here. Also on the menu we have Roasted Rhubarb and Custard Danish and Caramel Walnut Tart. Our soup this month is Roasted Tomato with Sourdough Breadcrumbs. Both the recipe for the soup and the Caramel Walnut Tart are in the Supper Cookbook. Of course, all the regular favourites are on the menu too!
Keep an eye on our instagram for menu updates and changes. If an item pops up on our feed that you feel you simply cannot miss, bear in mind it might not be there forever! Our menu is aligned with the seasons and therefore it will change accordingly.
LON Store has also re-opened its doors for the new year. This month we have everything you need for a cosy winter breakfast feast at home, including our Fig and Coconut Granola. We can’t seem to make enough of it! Our LON ladies, Andrea and Madeleine, have been busy preparing this year’s first batch of monthly subscription boxes. The LON Box arrives at the beginning of each month and includes a selection of pantry staples, kitchen essentials and tasteful homeware. If this appeals to you, please visit the LON Store website. In addition, if you spot an item on LON Store’s instagram that you would like delivered to you, then please get in touch via email.
Wonderful Hebe, who worked exceptionally hard with our kitchen team in the run up to Christmas, has started her Physiotherapy training in Edinburgh. Best of luck Hebe! This has left space to welcome the lovely Fiona, who we are very excited to be working with. Cheers Fiona!
Our long-suffering only male employee Harry, has received not one, but THREE unconditional university offers. Well done Harry, we are delighted for you. However, it’s up for debate whether we will actually allow you to leave come September. In the same week, Harry also secured his motorcycle license, news that his mum and fellow colleague Lisa, had a slightly different reaction to…
That’s all for now folks. Just think, it’s not long ‘til the daffodils are out and the Hot Cross Buns are in the oven.
Keep warm and safe and out there.
Love, team ARAN x
