Hello!

We have been enjoying getting into the flow of the busy summer months these past few weeks and it has been wonderful to have so many of you pop by the bakery and shop.

In early May we attended the first Guardswell Market of the year and it was a real honour for us to be amongst such brilliant local businesses once more. The delicious food and drink on offer, rare sunshine and lots of excellent customers all made for a lovely evening. Plus, the welcoming sight of two content donkeys and spring lambs in the fields surrounding - what’s more to like? The next market takes place on Wednesday 12th June from 3pm, with the usual wide range of local produce available. We do hope you can attend and help support Guardswell’s brilliant work.

Our current menu this month includes Orange, Polenta and Thyme Cake, Lemon Meringue Tart and Strawberry Shortcake Danish. For the (few) non-sugar obsessed amongst us, some of our current savoury options are a Pearl Barley, Broccoli and Feta Salad and a Muhammara, White Bean Hummus and Roast Hazelnut Focaccia Sandwich. Alongside all of our usuals of course! Our menu will change again in mid-June, so make sure to fill up on any favourites whilst you can!

As well as ensuring our Bakery is stocked to the brim each day, our kitchen team are busy preparing and decorating all your celebration and wedding cakes. And finally, earlier this month we received a special delivery ; Milly Kenny Rider’s new book, Britain’s Best Bakeries. We are honoured (and slightly gobsmacked) to be listed alongside some of our favourites. The book is beautifully curated and a real treat to read. There is a copy for you to browse, and plenty more if you wish to purchase, at the bakery or our sister shop, LON Store. In addition to new book stock, including yet more copies of ARAN and SUPPER, LON Store is preparing for a summer refresh and we can’t wait to show you our new windows soon. We have lots of lovely fresh produce from Little Trochry Farm and the best of the Scottish berries are currently gracing our shelves. Pop in for all your summer picnic essentials!
